5 Another Solid Collection - Jake Smith Begins To Emerge
On their second (and final) full length album (they also made a couple of EPs), Antenna turns in another fine set, with guitarist/bassist Jake Smith beginning to emerge as a force himself rather than merely a sideman. Fans of Smith and Frida Love's subsequent band, The Mysteries Of Life, would surely enjoy this peek into their pre-MOL past. This would also likely be enjoyed by fans of garage-rock/pop in general, such as fans of the various New Zealand bands on the Flying Nun label (Clean, Straitjacket Fits, Chills, Able Tasmans, etc.)
