5 Eric Benet is back with a Hurricance Warning
After a six year absence between album releases, Eric Benet has come back with his new release, Hurricane, which is full of love ballads and a mellow music as only Eric can do it.We've heard from Eric on different soundtracks the last few years: The Brothers with the dance tune "love dont Love me"and The Best Man with "Poetry Girl" among others, but this is his first album release since the platinum selling "A Day in the Life" was released in 1999.Eric was at the height of his personal life with his marriage to actress Halle Berry in 2001, which coincided with her Academy award win, and since then, Eric has had some demons to deal with, which brought an end to his marriage with Berry in 2004, but also brought us some new music from that heartache.Gone are the goatee and dreadlocks, but the voice remains and he immediately scores with songs such as be myself again and the beautiful ballad Man enough to Cry. Eric still has some beats for his jeeps in Where does the love go, I know, and the head knocking Making love.Eric's slow jams are still what define him and the songs Pretty Baby, which has a smooth beat behind it, the title track Hurricane, The last time, produced by 16 time grammy award producer David Foster, I wanna be loved and Still with you will score big points with his fan base, especially the sisters.and finally, his dedication to his daughter, India, is heartfelt and very emotional where Eric opens up his soul for the love of his life. This is a great CD, I highly recommend getting your hands on it and having a hurricane.

5 There's Nothing Like...
Embracing your demons and casting them off in song, and that's exactly what Mr. Benet does on this project. The pain, sincerity and honesty is evident in the words, the arrangements and chords. If you listen closely enough and open yourself up, the realness will seep into your soul and you will feel the truth of his melodies and the spirit in his lyrics. I really don't like to enjoy the fruits of someone else's pain, , or even want them to experience it, but damn, his life experiences gives me listening pleasure! Horrible thing, I know, but most great touching music (like poetry) is born from painful experiences. The author only need to convey it in such a way, the outisder looking in can also experience it deeply...and that he delivers without fail. In my humble opinion, Eric has come back on the music scene unlike a "Hurricane" but more a refreshing ray of beaming, bright, brilliant sunlight, after the storm. He shines and warms the soul and delivers poignant performances on songs like: Pretty Baby, Man Enough to Cry, Be Myself Again and My Prayer! Just those four songs can sustain the entire CD, but there are so many other really good songs. For instance the tune: "The Last Time," is so lush and haunting, it will carry your imagination to a place of a soothing waterfalls, surrounded by a field full of beautiful unplucked wildflowers. And there are even some soothing, hip uptempo tunes to relish and enjoy. But make no mistake, his uninterrupted and smooth flow really stands out and up when he is crooning and belting out tunes of love, sorrow and apology. He is a true singer with an abundance of talent and this project delivers all that it is intended to do, and that is to pull the listener into his world and blanket them with a strong dose of Benet. This is a solid project. A solid 5 stars without question or hesitation, on my part.

5 This is a Must have CD!!!!
This CD is OUTSTANDING. This is a must have for any music lover. Eric Benet's vocals are on point. you can feel the expression and passion in his voice when he sings these songs. I have all three of his CD's and this is by far the most diverse of them all. The songs that really strike a chord are "Be myself again", "Hurricane","PrettyBaby", "Cracks of a broken Heart", "Man enough to cry" and "India" These songs are perfection. I wish that there was a radio release from this album to help with promotion. Tell your friends to by this album today
